About
Try it, not just look at it.
Try Something is a small, open-source home for tools, toys, experiments and tiny web apps. Each one does something you can enjoy in about 30 seconds, right in your browser.
How it works
Browse freely
Explore, search and Surprise me work without an account. “Try it” always opens the maker's official site.
Anyone can share
Makers (“I made this”) and fans (“I found this”) can both submit, and both get credit.
People review everything
An editor opens every link, does the 30-second try and checks the description before it's published.
No paid ranking
No ads, no pay-to-rank, no fake votes. If sponsorships ever happen, they'll be labeled and kept apart from curation.
How sorting works
New shows the latest listings first. Trending and Popular use the same score built from real activity: views, “Try it” clicks, hearts and saves. Trending looks at the last 7 days, Popular at all time. Each visitor counts once per tool per day.
Where the pictures come from
Covers are each product's own share image, the picture its site shows when the link is posted. When there isn't one, we draw an original illustration. Names, images and marks belong to their owners, and makers can ask us to take an image down at any time.
Open source
The code is MIT licensed and runs on Cloudflare Workers and D1. Anyone can read it, and contributions are welcome. See how to contribute.
